Restless and Wandering Emotions·Sequel/Wu Guoyong
In 2018, a set of assembled texts of "No Place" spread like wildfire in the media, which is one of the rare events in recent years where images are used to generate social hotspots, sparking national attention and, in turn, driving change in an industry.
Wu Guoyong was the photographer of this work, and Windy Face supported the project throughout. The success of the image seems to be accidental, but in fact it is a perfect practice of the concept of "the most powerful photography is the one that is oriented to the society" that has been adhered to by Fengmian Image New Media. Photographer Wu Guoyong and all of us involved in this project have accomplished a collective viewing of society through an in-depth observation of the phenomenon of shared bicycle graveyard.
Entering into 2019, the tide of capital has rapidly receded from the bike-sharing industry, and numerous bike-sharing graveyards have quickly disappeared as if they had never existed.
However, the profit-seeking and bloodthirsty nature destined that the restless capital would not stop there. In April 2019, the shared car graveyard appeared again - a large number of shared cars and networked electric vehicles were abandoned in the wild. And FAW, Dongfeng, Chang’an and bigger power capitals such as Tencent, Ali and Suning are rubbing their fists and preparing to enter.
This may be another spectacle of restless and wandering social that Wu Guoyong has followed and observed .
In a time when ideals have nowhere to rest, we use photography to rest our hearts.
