Codes of Earth Today:The Burn /Jane Fulton Alt

In 2007, Jane Fulton Alt stumbled upon a controlled prairie fire. Such controlled burn is a method to control nature and refresh ecological systems adopted by many countries. It is mainly used to reduce invasive vegetation and pests and diseases, so that vigorous native plants can continue flourishing. The scene of controlled burn in the prairies and mountains was splendid, therefore Jane was deeply shocked and touched too. She saw the significance of the moment of burning, and the transition between life and death at that moment. She also transferred the impression of the moment into an understanding of her own personal life. She believes that life and death are not contradictory, but are harmonious and unified. From her works, we can sense that nature is moving forward through a cycle, and we should keep hope alive.
